The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (91¿´Æ¬) has been operating under an approved Multi-Year Financial Recovery Plan (MYFRP) with the Ministry of Education since 2023, with related concerns and issues dating back to the 2020-2021 year. This continues to be a very difficult time for the 91¿´Æ¬ community, in managing deficit budgets and a growing accumulated deficit position.  91¿´Æ¬ continues to work with the Ministry of Education in addressing the employer-paid Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefit plan that is a significant unfunded expenditure. As we prepare for the upcoming budget year, 91¿´Æ¬ will continue to operate under the MYFRP until a resolution is in place.

The Ministry of Education provides funding to school boards through the Core Education funding formula.  Core Education information will be available on the Ministry of Education website as well as through the budget reports presented to the Board of Trustees. 91¿´Æ¬ is committed to ensuring our stakeholders have access to information regarding the budget development process. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the 91¿´Æ¬ Multi-Year Strategic Plan and 91¿´Æ¬ Financial Statements.

Public Budget Information Webcast

91¿´Æ¬ held a live webcast to provide a Public Budget Information Session on April 24, 2025.  This was an opportunity to share financial information and updates on the 91¿´Æ¬ deficit position with our community stakeholders. Link to: Recording of Public Budget Information Session Webcast

Stakeholders can contact their local area trustee directly or send an email to 91¿´Æ¬ to provide input for the development of the 2025-2026 budget.
